About jonh blanco
I am a part of the new creative class. Recognized as an Artist, Community Organizer, Curator, Dancer, Educator, Gardener, Imagination Officer, Mentor, Naturalist and Social Entrepreneur. However defined, my practices are described as whimsical, courageous, and authentic. I received a BFA in Interdisciplinary Studies at the San Francisco Art Institute in 2005. I served as President of Student Union and Student Liaison to the Board of Trustees and during my senior year at SFAI I lectured nationally about art education in the Bay Area. Post BFA, I worked as Artist Assistant for Clare Rojas and Barry McGee, and as an Imagination Officer inside San Francisco's Youth Guidance Center working with adjudicated teenagers. I have participated in cultural projects in Havana, Cuba; Manila, Philippines; Toronto, Canada; Leon, Spain, and completed 2000 miles of my first North American cross-country bicycling adventure. My interests vary, overlap and are filled with enthusiasm. Recently relocating to Cincinnati, I have begun to nurture my roots here by volunteering with Rivers Unlimited, Bike/PAC and Visionaries and Voices.
